Installation errors

Diagnose a failed installation or initialization.

Download failures

Check the operating system and architecture against Installation. Select a release for the correct component; the latest release overall can belong to a different component.

A missing release asset is different from an unreachable release host. Read the installer's HTTP error and confirm that the selected release actually contains your target.

If the checksum fails, do not run the binary. Download a matching binary and checksum pair again from the intended release.

Command not found

The server installer places its binary under ~/.local/bin. Initialization can offer a PATH update. Confirm that the shell or service invoking the binary uses that location.

Do not assume restarting a browser changes a host process's PATH.

tmux preflight

Initialization checks tmux before writing server setup. A declined or failed tmux install can abort that flow. Install tmux under the intended execution environment and rerun initialization.

Desktop binary missing

A desktop development checkout needs its staged sidecar before Tauri starts. Contributors should use bun run dev:desktop-server or bun run dev:desktop-client from the repository root, not bare tauri dev.

For published bundles, confirm the platform and release asset before treating a missing binary as a source-build problem.

Next steps

Read Install the server manually, Status and logs, and Support and releases.
