Terminal troubleshooting

Diagnose terminal input and rendering problems.

Input unavailable

Check whether the process is alive and whether you have edit access. A view-only share intentionally prevents input.

On touch devices, Enable text copying switches away from input mode. Choose Enable text input when you want to type again.

An offline node makes its stream unreachable even if its process continues on the machine.

Page loads but output does not stream

Verify WebSocket forwarding through the proxy and confirm that the API can mint the terminal's single-use token. A successful static page load does not test either operation.

Try the server's direct trusted address from an appropriate device to isolate a proxy problem.

Terminal becomes smaller

The pane shares one grid across visible viewers. A smaller attached view can determine the grid size for everyone. Review the attached device information and close an unnecessary visible view.

Corrupted display

Record the agent, component versions, and whether corruption appears after reconnect or resize. Server journal entries for terminal attachment can help diagnose geometry and replay.

Screen dumps

Attach-debug output can include secrets and project contents. Do not enable it or upload its files without reviewing what will be captured.
