Clone and switch presets

Reuse a session's settings through cloning or a preset switch.

Clone a session

  1. In the server dashboard's sidebar, choose Subshells and open the ⋯ menu on a session you own.
  2. Choose Clone….
  3. Review the new session's name and launch values.
  4. Confirm the launch and open the new terminal.

Cloning creates a new subshell with its own identity. It does not give another user ownership of the source session. Only the owner can clone because the source preset belongs to that account.

Switch a preset

From the session's ⋯ menu on the Subshells page, choose Switch preset… when you want the existing subshell to use another preset for the same harness. A live pane is restarted; an exited pane is started using the selected preset.

Switching affects the session's launch configuration. Edit preset changes the saved definition instead, and those edits do not affect a process already running.

Check the result

Confirm the agent and working directory after launch. If you supplied a task prompt, check that it reached the agent rather than assuming successful process creation means prompt delivery succeeded.

Process restart

Switching a preset restarts the agent process. Finish or record work that must survive before switching.
