Oh My Pi

Run Oh My Pi as a Subshell agent.

Before you start

Install omp using the vendor instructions and authenticate it under the execution account. The integration was tested with Oh My Pi 18.12.6. Ask an administrator to enable Oh My Pi under Settings → Server Settings → Plugins in the server dashboard's sidebar. Follow Install an agent CLI to confirm detection on the target node.

Oh My Pi and pi are separate harnesses. Installing pi doesn't provide the omp executable.

Launch

  1. Follow Launch a subshell to open Add subshell, then choose Oh My Pi under Agent or terminal.
  2. Select a preset if you want saved model, provider, and thinking settings. Configure those values in Presets before launching, or launch without a preset to use Oh My Pi's defaults.
  3. Choose the target node and an existing project directory.
  4. Launch and complete Oh My Pi's first-run setup if it appears. Wait for the agent prompt before submitting a task.

The plugin detects omp through PATH, ~/.bun/bin/omp, and ~/.local/bin/omp. OMP_PATH can identify the binary explicitly in the execution environment. Before changing that override, see Files and paths for configuration locations and service-environment guidance.

MCP and session behavior

Subshell configures MCP automatically for each launch, using the subshell's credentials without saving them in the configuration. Your existing Oh My Pi settings and authentication stay in place. No separate MCP adapter is needed.

Open Oh My Pi's MCP tool list and confirm that subshell exposes list_subshells. An explicit Oh My Pi setting that disables that server can still prevent it from loading.

This plugin supports MCP and launch settings. It doesn't provide automatic conversation resumption, attention hooks, or sidebar subagent monitoring. Conversation selection on restart follows Oh My Pi's own settings and any resume flags you've supplied.

Provider configuration, usage limits, and CLI-specific permissions remain Oh My Pi's own settings.
