Subshell Docs

Server administration

Administer the Subshell instance through its server settings and host tools.

Before you start

Sign in with an administrator account. Server Settings is hidden from members, and administration endpoints require an admin cookie session. A bearer API key does not substitute for that session.

Configure the instance

Use Configuration for host settings, Users and roles for accounts, and Sign-in providers for authentication.

Registration controls who may create accounts and enroll nodes. Plugins manages the instance-wide harness and network plugin set.

Keep it available

Service and autostart explains supervision and login startup. Update the server covers release binaries and container images.

Make Backups and restoration part of normal operation. Use Status and logs and Audit log to inspect failures and administrative activity.

Recovery

Account recovery restores admin access when normal sign-in fails. Reset and uninstall describes destructive host operations.

Operations that would leave the server unreachable require a host-side CLI or desktop assistant. A page served by a stopped server cannot bring it back.
