Proxmox nodes
Create a dedicated Subshell node in a Proxmox LXC container.
Before you start
Use a Proxmox host with root access and obtain the node installation URL containing an unused setup key from your server.
The node helper creates an unprivileged Debian container and installs a plain node daemon. It does not run the server image or Docker.
Install
Review the node helper, then download it on the Proxmox host:
curl -fsSL https://subshell.sh/proxmox-node.sh -o proxmox-node.sh
bash proxmox-node.sh- Choose the install operation.
- Review the container ID, storage, resources, network bridge, and hostname.
- Supply the setup URL when requested.
- Wait for setup and confirm the node is online in the server.
The helper creates a subshell execution account and installs the user service. Install agent CLIs and project files for that account inside the container.
Maintenance
Use the helper's update, backup, restore, and removal operations as appropriate. A restored node identity should not run concurrently with the original machine.
Removal
Removing the container can remove its projects and node credentials. Keep backups outside the container before confirming removal.
