NetBird
Reach the server through a NetBird network.
Before you start
Install NetBird on a supported Linux or macOS server host and enable the plugin. Use a NetBird account or self-hosted management service you trust.
Join the network
- Sign in as an administrator. In the server dashboard's sidebar, open Server Settings → Networking, find NetBird under Networks, and select Configure.
- Run the printed installation steps on the host if needed.
- Complete interactive sign-in or supply a setup key.
- Wait for the daemon to report its network address.
- Open the advertised server address from another device on that network.
Joining already makes the mesh address reachable, so the plugin records it without a separate forwarding command. Use this address remains a fallback if the address has not propagated yet.
Self-hosted management
Configure a self-hosted management URL on the machine through NetBird's own setup. The Subshell card reads the daemon's resulting configuration; it has no separate management-URL field that could disagree with it.
DNS and browser features
Peer names require suitable NetBird DNS configuration. If the offered hostname does not resolve, try the mesh IP and review your network's nameserver group.
An HTTP mesh address can reach the server without being a secure browser context. Use HTTPS and reverse proxies when passkeys or web push require HTTPS.
