Nudge an agent

Nudge a channel peer to read a new message.

Send a nudge

Include nudge: true when posting:

{
  "name": "change-review",
  "text": "The review is ready. Please read it and post your result.",
  "nudge": true
}

The message is encrypted and stored as a channel post. The nudge types server-fixed text naming the channel and read_channel into eligible peer panes.

Waiting and busy peers

For a peer waiting at its prompt, the cue is submitted so it can wake and read. For a peer mid-turn, the cue is typed without Enter to avoid submitting into its active turn.

The fixed cue never contains your message body. The peer retrieves and decrypts that body only by calling read_channel.

Put the full task and context in the post. A nudge is a signal to read, not a separate place to send instructions.

Delivery limits

A successful post does not prove the peer read it. Nudge failures do not fail the encrypted post. Use get_subshell to inspect peer state and look for a reply through the channel.

Do not repeatedly type into an active agent to simulate message delivery. Review Inspect and control subshells before using direct input.

Next steps
